FOOD
Like everything else, the cost of food has gone sky-high. Worse, the availability is spotty, too. At Kitty Quarters, we feed a consistent diet to all cats, that are not on a special one, Friskies Pate. We use Turkey and Giblets and Mariner’s catch (for those that like fish). Why? Several reasons:
-
Consistency of food helps the cats' digestion. If there is evidence of a problem (throw up, runny stool, etc.) it's likely not the food.
-
This is a common brand so adopting families can find it at the local grocery and be able to continue feeding it.
Each cat gets half a can, twice a day. Usually, we have 16-20 cats at Kitty Quarters which means 16-20 cans per day. There are 24 cans per case and a case costs roughly $17. If you do the math, that’s 600 cans (25 cases) of food per month costing $425 per month.
Here’s how you could help us pay for food:
Make a single donation for the number of cases you want to help us purchase. Better yet, become a monthly donor for the number of cases you want to help us with.
Your continued donations and support are our lifeblood that keeps Kitty Quarters able to do its mission – pairing cats with people to benefit both.
Thank you in advance for your caring generosity. Donations are still tax-deductible and receipts will be automatically emailed to you.

How Your Dollars Help:
At Kitty Quarters (KQ), we do more than rescue, shelter, socialize, rehabilitate and find loving homes for cats that have been abandoned or abused, can no longer be cared for by their families because of changing family conditions, are victims of mother cats that haven’t been spayed, are outside males that haven’t been neutered, have been reported to animal control officers, found by the road, etc. We educate. We match people to cats for their mutual benefit, and more.
Of course, being a volunteer-run, membership, not-for-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of animal-loving, thoughtful, and generous people like you who make a difference for these needy creatures.
Every cat coming to Kitty Quarters will be spayed or neutered unless there is some medical reason why that shouldn’t happen for that particular cat. Some kittens will have to wait until they are age, size or health appropriate for the surgery.
100% of your tax-deductible, donated dollars goes to the care of the cats (spay/neuter costs, other vet bills, food, vaccinations, medications), facility costs, the continuance and promotion of the rescue, special case grooming costs, and educational opportunities, so that fewer cats are suffering. No one at Kitty Quarters gets a salary. We are a no-kill, all volunteer, non-profit shelter.
Our facility will not open until we have the cat cabins to house them.
Donations can be made by check, which will allow your donation to go farther. You can also donate via Paypal.
